Dons win 4-0 at Todders
Aberdeen v Dunfermline
Aberdeen entertained Dunfermline at Pittodrie last night needing something to kick start their season. The Dons looked dangerous and hungry for the first time this season and put the newly promoted side to the sword. The Dons first goal came from last seasons top scorer Scott Vernon making it the second of the season for the big man. Dunfermline never looked to be in the game and the Dons went 2-0 up again from a bit of stealthy poaching from Scott Vernon from a Youll Mawene flick on.The Dons were now looking ready to run away with the match and the went 3-0 up when Fraser Fyvie scored a screamer from 16 yards to claim his first of the season. Aberdeen captain Ricky Foster was inspirational throughout and looked a hugely attacking force for the Dons. Foster played a huge part in tonight's win and in my book has shown that he is definitely captain material for Aberdeen.
The fourth goal was big Scott Vernons hat trick and his fourth of the season which just tied of a perfect night in front of goal for the recently shot shy Dons. The score could have been about 8 or 9 nil but a good performance from the Pars keeper helped to keep the score down. Although we have had a nightmare start to the season we are now up to ninth and are only 3 points behind the Jambos in fourth.
A little bit of fortune and an injection of confidence will hopefully turn our season around. We have 3 huge games coming up against Dundee Utd, Celtic and Rangers at Todders. This result could not have come at a better time and lets hope it gives the Dons a boost to go on a run. European football is still a possibility this season so lets get behind the Dandies and move up the table.
