Dons Robbed By Referee!!

Aberdeen kicked off there SPL season against St Johnstone with a 0-0 draw. The Dons dominated from the start with all of the new signings playing well and the Dons goal never looked under any pressure. Aberdeen had quite a few good chances but were constantly held back by the referee. Every free kick we tried to take quickly was pulled back, we were very rarely aloud the advantage rule and the decision to send Ryan Jack off was a disgrace.

Watching the game from the lower deck of the Dick Donald stand I felt that the Dons should have won the game easily. Fraser Fyvie hit the post, Enkilmen fumbled the ball on a number of occasions and captain Ricky Foster had a couple of good long range efforts which went close. Although we never managed to score any goals the Dons looked a solid outfit all over the pitch winning most of the 50-50 balls along with some good passing and off the ball movement.

Aberdeen new boy Kari Arnason came on in the second half and seemed to slot right in to the side distributing the ball well and getting in to good positions to receive it to. Young Josh Magennis also came on and had a good chance but managed to pull his shot wide of the post. All in all the Dons looked comfortable and with a bit more match practice I think they will have a good season. I still think Brown needs to bring in one more striker before the transfer window closes but otherwise I am very happy with the new look team.
