All The Latest Transfer News And Gossip
Good morning to all of the Red Army. Today I'm going to take a look at what's been going on at Todders so far in the closed season. So far we have made 4 new signings which I strongly believe will help bolster the squad in our hunt for European qualification this season. In my opinion and I'm sure every other Dons fan would agree that to many school boy errors cost us at the back last season. With the return of Ricky Foster and the signing of big center back Youll Mawene I'm sure our defence will be alot more solid this term. There has also been some good news in the Dons midfield with the return of long term injuries Fraser Fyvie, Yoann Folly and Peter Pawlett. New signings to the midfield include the return of former dons player Chris Clarke, Isac Osbourne and with Rob Milsolm signing a new deal our midfield is looking pretty solid.
We have finally got rid of Chris Maguire to derby for 400k but no replacements have been brought in as yet. I personally would like to see young Josh Magennis given a run in the side as he has no fear and is willing to get stuck right in. The only other signing we have made so far this season is bringing big David Gonzalez in on loan from Manchester City to cover for Jamie Langfield who is out until October following a seizure.
Our first pre-season match has come and gone with a 1-3 win at glebe park against Brechin which saw a team mostly made up of trialists. The only trialist to score in that game was bengondo but there has been no news about the big Cameroon striker being offered a contract as yet.
With the dons flying out to Holland yesterday for there training camp the pre-season is now in full swing. Big games against Bochum and Borussia Monchengladbach will be the main tests for this new look Dons side before some local friendlies and then a glamour tie against Villa Real for Darren Mackies testimonial. I think we stand a good chance of finishing in the top 4 this season and a return to European football next season.
I will keep you all up to date with any new transfer news over the coming weeks and lets get all of the red army behind the Dons this season and bring back some glory to a proud Scottish club.
