New Signings For Aberdeen FC

After the debut of both Steve Maclean and Jim Patterson last night I can now comment on the business done during the transfer deadline. We have shipped out 3 strikers and brought in only one to strengthen our goal shy strike force. Both of the new signings seemed to put in plenty of effort and got about the pitch plenty. Jim Patterson put in a good shift considering he hasn't really played since November in a competitive match and did well swapping between left back and midfield, I think he will be a good asset to the club once he regains match fitness.

As for Steve Maclean he managed to cause some havoc for the Falkirk defence but didn't manage to grab a goal on his debut. I am confident that Mcghee has brought in the players needed to make the difference however I feel that they will need a little bit of time to gel in to the team. Although the dons managed to chalk up another home defeat I am still confident that we can scrape a Europa league spot although I feel it may have to come from the Scottish cup.

I would also like to give a shout out to on loan striker Chris Maguire who scored on his debut for Jimmy Calderwoods Kilmarnok to beat Celtic one nil. Lets hope he comes back to Pittodrie at the end of the season with plenty of first team starts and a renewed confidence. We now have to look forward to a Scottish cup tie on Saturday with a lower league team, as we all know this has caused us dons fans a lot of heart ache in past few years but I am confident that we can go to Starks Park and get the result needed.
